On May 8, 2004 at Echo of Moscow Radio Station Elena Shuvalova announced, "In the first place on March 30,(2004) we are officially registered with Elvis Presley Enterprises"
This fan club well-known its propaganda on mass media Lucy de Barbin and the self-styled child of Lucy and Elvis - Desiree. This fan club is in essence the "Lucy de Barbin fan club". Its activist Natalia Galadzheva, who is translator of Lucy's book, is journalist, cinema expert, and as she calls herself "elvisist" [= Elvis Presley expert]. The members of that fan club are also Elena Demina (now Shuvalova), Denis Shuvalov, Irene Richardson and the other members. These persons were unofficial unregistered fan club but appeared on mass media (including with propaganda Lucy de Barbin) in the name of the official russian Elvis Presley fan club i.e. deceived the audience.

A few words about Lucy's book:
Lucy de Barbin in her book appeals DO NOT believe Presley Fund!
[On page 427] Translator (N. Galadzheva) comments similar Lucy's words like so, "Lucy means primarily Priscilla Beaulieu."
Lucy de Barbin in her comments on the russian edition of the book calls Priscilla Presley's actions concerning Elvis' testament as a roguery.
[On page 358] Lucy de Barbin wrote about testament, "This [actions of Priscilla Presley] contradicts Elvis' testament and this is the roguery. As a result of this the family was swindled."


In spite of such an activity of the fan club (www.elvispresley.ru) and in spite of our e-mails and registered letters addressed Direction of EPE, Inc., Graceland officially registered "Lucy de Barbin fan club".

Since August 2003!!! we repeatedly informed Graceland regarding this situation - propaganda Lucy de Barbin' book in the name of the official Elvis Presley fan club. But Graceland did not clear it.
However, Graceland cleared others curious details:

1) EPE can not control people's actions or the media actions:
"We cannot control people's actions or the media actions."

2) EPE calls such activity of the unregistered fan club (www.elvispresley.ru) as "your problems":
"I wanted to check back in with you to make sure you were no still having problems with this. Please let me know. We want to make sure your problems are taken care of and addressed properly. :) Thanks"

3) EPE believes that the Elvis clubs have a right to their own opinions and beliefs:
"Please understand that we believe that the Elvis clubs have a right to their own opinions and beliefs but they also need as much information on the subject as possible to make a correct observation and conclusion. This correct information will be provided to them and I shall encourage them to weigh this info and then draw their own conclusion."

4) As it turned out, EPE supports not all club beliefs:
"On behalf of Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie Presley, Jack Soden, myself, and the entire staff of EPE, we do appreciate your dedication to Elvis and we will (and do) support you and your club beliefs as long as you have the correct information pertaining to the subject that you feel so strongly about."
or
"Please don't continue to defame EPE or our staff. If you do, I will terminate your club."

5) EPE can not give Priscilla's address and they also do not open her mail: "If you will send it, addressed to Priscilla, to the address below, it will be forwarded to her. I send her mail every two weeks.....and we do not open her mail, so you do not have to worry about that."
It never entered our heads that it is in principle possible - to open other people's mail.


This is our correspondence with Graceland:

Taking into account that:
- Graceland ignored our e-mails for half-year;
- Graceland did not prohibit unregistered EP fan club (www.elvispresley.ru) to appear on TV and Radio as "the official EP fan club";
- Graceland did not prohibit unregistered EP fan club (www.elvispresley.ru) to appear on TV and Radio as "the official EP fan club" with propaganda Lucy de Barbin and her book;
- Graceland ignored the information regarding intention of the fan club (www.elvispresley.ru) to release their own Elvis Presley CD;
- In spite of such an activity of fan club (www.elvispresley.ru) Graceland registered it as official fan club;
- Graceland refused to give us address of Priscilla Presley and the Los Angeles office;
- Graceland warned us not raise a question regarding propaganda Lucy de Barbin book in the name of the official EP fan club, otherwise our fan club will be terminated;
we may suppose that Graceland encourage Lucy de Barbin.

We wonder at Elena Shuvalova words that she said on 1TV:
[From broadcast 08 January, 2004 on 1TV (Channel One Russia)]
TV presenter:"Did Priscilla know about Lucy?"
Elena Shuvalova:"You know, I think she knew and I think she jolly well knows about it now because they well know about it in Graceland."
TV presenter:" Do these women intercommunicate now?"
Natalia Galadzheva:"No. On no account. Lucy can not stand Priscilla. She believes that Priscilla did very much evil towards Elvis ."
